CALGARY, ALBERTA, October 27, 2026 – AgSphere, the agri-food innovation hub dedicated to advancing the Canadian ecosystem, has begun a partnership with ConvergX®, which works across sectors to define problems and identify solutions across industries.

Through this partnership, AgSphere and ConvergX will connect agri-food innovators with the technologies, capital, talent and markets of sectors like defence, energy, space and critical infrastructure. By combining networks, market intelligence and convening platforms, the two organizations will give producers, startups, researchers and investors practical routes to validation, adoption and growth. Activities to facilitate these connections will be shared by AgSphere and ConvergX in the coming months.

“Many of tomorrow’s breakthrough solutions will emerge at the intersection of industries,” said Lindsay Smylie, Managing Director of AgSphere. “Through this collaboration, AgSphere and ConvergX will help bring greater visibility to technologies, challenges and opportunities across agriculture, food, defence and other strategic sectors, creating new opportunities for innovation to move further and faster.”

ConvergX hosts the annual ConvergX Global Congress as well as regional conferences to bring together vetted groups of decisionmakers across traditionally separate industries to identify proven solutions that can be adapted across sectors. They also offer consulting services through ConvergX Xpand. The partnership with AgSphere was first announced to attendees of the ConvergX Global Congress in Calgary in September.

“The most valuable innovations rarely stay in the sector they were built for,” said Kim Van Vliet, Founder & CEO, ConvergX. “Agri-food is facing the same pressures as defence, energy and space: resilience, security, automation and data. That makes it a natural partner, not a separate conversation. AgSphere has built the front door to this sector, and together we’ll open more paths to market for innovators on both sides.”

AgSphere officially launched in December 2025 with its founding partners AdFarm, the Calgary Stampede, Olds College of Agriculture and Technology, and the Opportunity Calgary Investment Fund. In the past year, the organization has forged partnerships with organizations across the agri-food innovation ecosystem to facilitate sector opportunities. In partnership with EIT Food, AgSphere has selected a delegation of Canadian founders to attend EIT Food Next Bite in Warsaw, Poland on October 28-29 as part of a European market immersion trip.

About ConvergX

For ten years, ConvergX® has operated on a simple premise: the capability you need often already exists — it’s just working in another industry. We bring energy, mining, agriculture, construction, medicine and defence into the same room to move proven technology where it’s needed next — connecting demand signals with the companies and capital that can answer them. Industry doesn’t have a technology problem. It has a convergence problem. That’s the one we solve. Visit  convergx.co for more information.
